Dress Code

This is a conservative, Christian league, and many of your community judges will be older and retired. As such, we encourage all competitors to dress modestly and professionally.

Furthermore, it is the desire of Stoa to promote professionalism and modesty in behavior and dress. Stoa has developed the following Dress Code for the National Invitational Tournament of Champions and it has been adopted for this tournament:

Competition

During competition, students must dress in professional business attire.

Gentlemen

Suits or slacks and a sports coat, with a shirt and tie, and dress shoes.

Ladies

Skirt or pant suits; slacks, skirts or dresses with jackets, and professional dress shoes. Hemlines are to be at least to the knee. Leggings and tights are not to be worn as pants. Nylons are not required.

Juniors

Wear Sunday best at a minimum.

Awards Ceremony

Students must attend the awards ceremony in full competition attire.

Violations

If the competitor’s attire at any time during the tournament is deemed a violation of the dress code, the competitor will be asked to come into compliance with the dress code. A student will not be allowed to participate in competition or awards without compliance.

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. (Romans 12:2 The Message Bible)
