Grand Canyon Challenge II Juniors Tournament

Welcome to our Juniors Tournament for students ages 7 - 12

We will be offering the following event categories:

  • Junior Apologetics
  • Junior Interprative (Duo, Dramatic, Humorous, Open)
  • Junior Impromptu
  • Junior Platform (Persuasive, Original Oratory)
  • Junior Expository

Time Limits

Students may register for up to 6 speech events.

Please note time limits for each event:

  • Apologetics is four minutes (no penalty for going over) w/ three minute prep
  • Interpretive has a maximum speaking time of five minutes
  • Impromptu is three minutes w/ two minute prep time.
  • Platforms have a maximum speaking time of five minutes
  • Junior Expository has a maximum speaking time of five minutes

Judges: Our elder competitors or parents will be serving as judges for the junior's tournament. However, in order to judge juniors, elder competitors must be 14 years or older, or have one or more prior years of competition experience.

Script Submission: While no script submission is required, junior competitors are still required to cite authors, sources, and copyright dates in their pieces.

Attire: Tournament attire is Sunday best.

Awards: All competitors will be acknowledged at the award ceremony.

2. Christians often argue for God’s existence by suggesting the universe needs an initial cause. But what caused God?
3. What does the grace of God mean? Why does this matter?
4. What does it mean that Jesus Christ is the Messiah? Why is this important?
5. What does it mean that God is triune? Why does this matter?
6. What does it mean for man to repent from his sins? Why is this important?
7. Can God be both merciful and just?
8. What is the role of the Holy Spirit? Why does this matter?
9. What does it mean to forgive? Why is this important?
10. What is the importance of prayer?
